Fluminense beats Atletico Paranaense 3-0 for first victory in Brazilian league

Fluminense beat Atletico Paranaense 3-0 for its first victory in the Brazilian league on Wednesday, snapping a nine-match winless streak.

But the Rio de Janeiro club remains in the relegation zone with seven points from 10 matches, in second-to-last place in the 20-team standings.

Veteran striker Dodo opened the scoring at Maracana with a header in the 13th minute, and Argentine midfielder Dario Conca doubled the lead from near the penalty spot in the 84th. Forward Somalia closed the scoring with a one-timer from inside the area two minutes into injury time.
