TEEN STAR GIVES TINSELTOWN A TASTE OF SMALL-TOWN VALUES.(MAIN)

It's been a big year for Katie Holmes. Last summer the ``Dawson's Creek'' star was a virtual unknown who had just graduated from a Catholic all-girls school in Toledo.

Besides her teen TV drama hit, the 19-year-old has already made four feature films, ``The Ice Storm,'' ``Disturbing Behavior,'' the independent film ``Go!'' and ``Killing Mrs. Tingle,'' due out this fall.

Growing up in the Midwest and attending parochial school helped her cope with the sudden change.
